2005: Cultural tour of Spain (and a few other places!)

Glendalough, Ireland

In September 2005 we flew to Milwaukee to spend a few days with a girl who had visited us as an exchange student 25 years before, and her family. Next stop was Dublin. After a day there we set off for Glendalough, the site of an ancient monastery. Then Kenmare, from which we explored the Beara and Dingle Peninsulas and finally Doolin and the Burren.

From Ireland we flew to Barcelona where we spent a few days before joining a Martin Randall cultural tour of the kingdoms of Leon and Seville. We stayed at Salamanca, Leon, Santo Domingo de Silos, and finally Segovia, and we visited a number of smaller towns.
