Pat Riordan

Patricia (Pat) Margaret Riordan

22.12.1937 - 14.12.2010

A celebration of a life lived to the full

Pat was born and lived in Hobart with her parents, her older brother Geoff, and younger brother Ian. She matriculated from Collegiate School, and in her 12 years there never missed a day. She was an accomplished tennis player, and represented Tasmania in the Wilson cup for several years. She continued playing tennis for many years, and also became interested in golf.

On 14.11.59 she married John Phillip Herman from Melbourne, an avid yachtsman. Pat and John had three children; Andrea, Ian, and Richard. Pat was devoted to John, and dedicated to her children. They were happily married for 36 years before John sadly passed away in 1995.

In 2001 Pat presented a Sabot dinghy to the Brighton Yacht Club in his memory. The John Herman is used by aspiring young yachtsmen.
