Childhood memories

Soon after I got to England I found there was a climbing club in Coventry, so I joined them, and went on several trips. The first was to Wastwater Head

But then I transferred to a branch of the company in Whetstone, near Leicester, and moved to Leicester. I became involved with a local girl who wasn't interested in climbing, but after a while that fell through, and in 1956 I joined the Bowline Climbing Club in Leicester, and did several trips with them.
